Live Pottery Demonstration with Danica Drago

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of Withrow Park Farmers’ Market with a special live pottery demonstration by Toronto ceramic artist Danica Drago.

Come watch (and chat with) Toronto-based artisan potter as Danica shapes clay with a pedal-powered pottery wheel and gain a greater appreciation with the skill and effort that goes into creating pottery masterpieces.

About the artist: Danica Drago is an interdisciplinary artist, arts facilitator and bicycle mechanic based in Toronto. They graduated from Jewellery & Metalsmithing in the Material Art and Design program at OCAD University, but spent most of their time in the Ceramics department. Danica’s focus as a facilitator is to encourage creative collaboration and experiential learning with people of all ages and abilities. They are currently a ceramics instructor at the Gardiner Museum, as well as an artist-in-residence at Harbourfront Centre. In tandem with their studio teaching practice, Danica also conducts independent clay workshops with a bicycle-powered pottery wheel called Pedal Potter in unlikely public spaces with makers of all ages; bringing experimental ceramics processes to parks, schools, rooftops, streets, and libraries.
