DESCRIPTION:Toronto Clothing Repairathon runs free public events\, where anyone can bring clothing to be repaired by volunteers. Our goal is to encourage the teaching and learning of repair skills\, to reduce waste and keep clothing out of the garbage. We also want to build community and have fun! \nBring those holey sweaters\, ripped jeans and shirts missing a button\, and our volunteers will do their best to repair them. Community members are not expected to donate items to take items or take items if you donate items! We believe in sharing useful goods as a means of reducing waste and overconsumption in our neighbourhood. \nAll items must be in good working condition\, clean\, free of cracks and chips\, please. \nCategories: dishes\, cups & mugs\, utensils\, cutlery\, kitchen gadgets\, cookbooks\, small appliances\, jars & containers\, bakeware\, pots & pans\, and more! \nThe cut off time for dropping off items on the day of the swap is 12 pm to make sure everything has a chance to find a new home. Don’t have anything to donate but need stuff for your kitchen? No worries\, come find what you need. All are welcome! \nThis event is rain or shine! 🌧️☀️ \nAfter the event\, all of the leftover items will be donated to Eastview Neighbourhood Community Centre. \nVolunteer with us! Our research studies take the form of interactive games and activities for babies\, children\, and teens between 0-18 years old.
